Asakusa is located 16 minutes from Ginza station by Ginza subway line and is always
full of tourists.
It boasts Senso-ji Buddhist temple, Sanja Shinto shrine, Hana-Yashiki amusement park
and Nakamise street approch with about hundred shops at the both sides.
Senso-ji temple was originally built by Mr.Hajino Nakamoto, chief of the district in 628
in order to enshrine a small golden statue of Bodhisattva (2 inches) which two fishermen,
Hinokuma brothers had found it by accident in their fishing net at nearby Sumida river.
During Edo period, Senso-ji temple enjoyed financial supports by Tokugawa shoguns
and added many installations. However all buildings except Niten-mon gate were destroyed
by American air raids in 1945 and reconstructed later in 1958.

This is KAMINARI-MON gate, Thunder gate
to Senso-ji Buddhist temple.

red bean paste, soy sauce flavor paste, etc.
We see Nakamise street and Sensoji temple
from Asakusa sightseeing center building.
At the intersection above Asakusa station of Ginza
subway line, you can see Sky tree of 634 meters
high and Asahi beer company's main building at right.
