Tokyo metropolitan office buildings are located west of JR Shinjuku station
behind KEIO Plaza
Hotel. We can get there 7 minutes on foot from the western exit of the
station or one minute
from Tochomae station of OEDO municipal subway line.
The main building has 48 floors and its height is 243 meters, the third
highest in Tokyo
after Toranomon Hills of 255.5 meters and Midtown building of 248 meters.
Two observation decks are on the forty fifth floor in the southern and
northern tower, and
the elevators reach to 45th floor in 55 seconds from the first floor.
The two observation decks of 202 meters high stay open from 9:30 to 17:30,
and
only the northern until 23:00. It is free to go up to the decks.
We can look over central Tokyo, Tokyo bay, Boso peninsula, Yokohama and
Kawasaki cities
form the southern observation deck and western and northern Tokyo from
the northern.
Sometimes in winter when it is very fine, Mt. FUJI, 120 km away in west,
can be seen clearly.
Tokyo tower, Midtown and Roppongi Hills are seen
at the both sides in the center, and Tokyo bay and
Boso Peninsula at the back.

A group of buildings at the back is of Ohtemachi and
Marunouchi, among which Tokyo station is located.
The forest of the Imperial Palace is seen far before
the group of those buildings.
We see western suburbs of Tokyo, mountain ranges and Mt. FUJI behind them.
