These small rocks in the pond are called
HORAI islet, that represents paradise.
One of the most famous feudal lords, YANAGISAWA Yoshiyasu, constructed this Japanese
style garden in 1702. He was a very close attendant and vassal to TOKUGAWA Tsunayoshi,
5th shogun and had his domain in Kawagoe, present KAWAGOE city, Saitama prefecture.
The garden has a big pond at center and we can enjoy the change of elegant views walking
around it. It is located 6 minute walk from KOMAGOME station of JR Yamanote line
and NANBOKU subway line of Tokyo metro.
