VISIT AT ODAIBA ISLE
There are kind of a nostalgic shop of 1950s and
1960s of SHOWA period in THE DECK building
ODAIBA is a reclaimed isle in Tokyo bay. We had eight batteries out there
in the middle of
19th century to defend EDO (now, Tokyo) against foreign battle ships. "ODAIBA"
means
"battery base" in Japanese.
The isle was expanded by Tokyo Metropolitan government 1990s so as to be
one of
subcenters. Now we have many office and apartment buildings, museums, shopping
malls,
attraction parks, artificial beach, big exhibition pavilion, sport facilities,
hospitals, etc.
The isle and Tokyo are connected by bridges and undersea tunnels.
We can get there by monorail train, JR railway train, bus, car and ferry
boat from Tokyo.

This is a double decked bridge of 798 meter long
which connects Tokyo with ODAIBA isle.
