NIKKO
Nikko city is located at 100 km, north of Tokyo and boasts Nikko Toshogu
shrine,
ex Imperial Tamozawa villa, Chuzenjiko lake and Kegon fall.
1, Nikko Toshogu shrine

TOKUGAWA Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Tokugawas was buried on foot with
his face
to KANTO region (EDO) at Nikko Toshogu shrine in 1617 which was started
to construct by Hidetada, second shogun and was completed by Iemitsu, third
shogun.

4, Kegon fall

3, Chuzennji lake
Chuzenji lake is located about 10 km west of Nikko city in the mountains
y it is 1,269 meter high
above sea level with 163m of depth in average.
Kegon fall with a drop of 97m is located at the entrance of Chuzenji lake.
2, Ex-Tamozawa imperial villa

structure with a loose center pillar constructed in 1648

The villa was constructed in 1899 for Crown Prince, Yoshihito (after, emperor
Taisho,
great grandfather of the present), because he was sickly. He ascended the
throne of emperor
in 1912 and dead in 1926. He had often spent summer during his reign dedicating himself
to his works. It is near to Toshogu shrine and we can see the life of emperor very closely
only there in Japan .
